Services GVA
Rio Grande do Sul is the 4th in ranking GVA of Services among the 27 Brailian states
In Brazil, in 2015, the Services GVA reached R $ 3.7 trillion, representing 62.3% of Total GDP. Rio Grande do Sul contributed a GVA of R $ 224.71 billion (6% of the GVA of the country's Services), 4th in ranking GVA of Services among the 27 Brazilian states.
In Rio Grande do Sul, in 2015, the Services VAB accounted for 58.8% of total GDP. Of the Total Services, 21.7% was added by Administration, Education and Public Health and Social Security and 78.3% by other services.
The municipality with the largest participation was Porto Alegre, whose revenue represented, in 2015, 22.9% of the total GVA of the Services. Among the main factors that contributed for such high participation is its role as capital of the State, metropolitan center, that provides the concentration of Public Administration services. Porto Alegre influences regional urban centers and the other municipalities. Also worth mentioning are the municipalities of Caxias do Sul, Canoas, Passo Fundo and Pelotas.
